What is Leadership Cattaraugus?
Leadership Cattaraugus is designed to identify future leaders of the area and
help them develop the skills they will need to work more effectively for the
betterment of all the people in Cattaraugus county, fostering an impact on
community development and quality of life for years to come.
Leadership Cattaraugus was jointly launched in spring 2004 by the Greater
Olean Area Chamber of Commerce, Jamestown Community College, The Rehabilitation
Center, and St. Bonaventure University.
Participants in Leadership Cattaraugus will commit to a 10-month schedule of
monthly day-long sessions focusing on a wide range of topics. Participants will
be expected to assist in the development of the sessions which will grow the
individual’s overall awareness of the topic, the available resources, and his or
her own leadership skills. Participants will have the opportunity to network
with community leaders and a diverse group of developing leaders. These
relationships will benefit Leadership Cattaraugus Alumni for years to come, both
professionally and personally.
