Schedule

The Leadership Cattaraugus monthly sessions meet on the third Tuesday of each month beginning in March and ending with a graduation ceremony in December (the graduation date in December varies) at various locations depending on the topic. Sessions begin with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Leadership Cattaraugus begins with a mandatory opening retreat which provides an overview of the program, expectations, and various team-building activities. Following the retreat are 8 full day, monthly sessions. The program concludes with a Leadership Cattaraugus graduation ceremony. All sessions focus on various issues specific to Cattaraugus County.

Locations vary depending on the scheduled topics, which may include:

  • Economic Development

  • Education

  • Recreation and Tourism

  • Role of the Media

  • Government Services

  • Health and Medical Services

  • Human Services

  • Board Member Development

*All sessions meet for a full day. Full attendance is required for the program.

Session locations rotate depending on the topic and will be announced well in advance of the date.

Volunteer Opportunities

Leadership Cattaraugus graduates have received extensive amounts of information about the issues and concerns facing Cattaraugus County. Critical issues about education, economic development, interacting with the media, government, health and medical services, human services, and recreation and tourism are presented over an 8 month period. Graduates also are trained on Board of Director dynamics, requirements, and critical issues.
